Places Between Places: The Louisville Roads Project

I began work on a photography project in May. I’ve been anxiously awaiting the moment I could finally show you what I’ve been working on, and tonight’s the night.

Welcome to Places Between Places: The Louisville Roads Project!

Purpose

The focal point of this project is the major roadways of Louisville, Kentucky. I wanted to highlight why they are so important for our city, and to uncover facets of the past that might have been forgotten or overlooked.

With this project, I hope to provide a means for people to appreciate and reconnect with their surroundings. In doing so, my hope is that these photos clarify and bring context to the present day.

The Way of the Road: Essential Travel Gear

Travel is one of those things that consumes me. I love it so much, I think about it all the time, and I’ve been fortunate enough to do a whole lot of traveling in the last 2 years.

This list is broken into 5 categories: Bags and Organizers, Health and Toiletries, Small Items, Technology, and Other. This is intended to be consumed in tandem with my Making Travel Easier piece.

The Way of the Road: Making Travel Easier

I was poking around in my Snapchat settings last month (go to Settings, Additional Services, Manage, then Lifestyle & Interests if you’re curious) and I noticed they’d placed me in 2 categories: Frequent Travelers and Travel Enthusiasts.

I love to travel. I think I’ve spent more time traveling in the last 2 years than I have in my entire life. One of the reasons why I love to travel so much is because of everything it teaches. There’s no better way to determine whether your gear and your technique actually work than to use them, make changes based on what you learn, and then use them again.

In that spirit, I’d like to pass on some of what I’ve learned so far. This is intended to be consumed in tandem with my Essential Travel Gear piece.
